Bochemie Group
BOCHEMIE GROUP is a supranational group of several manufacturing and trading companies. The group was founded in 1995 by the parent company BOCHEMIE s.r.o. and it currently includes entities in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Turkey, and Vietnam.
The original intention of the group was to operate in three main industrial sectors – chemical specialities, photochemistry, and pharmaceutical industry. Owing to its expansion and consolidation, which began in 1998, the vision was brought into life. The structure of Bochemie Group stabilized for several years and individual companies actively participated in its further development. In the field of chemical specialities, the parent company Bochemie s.r.o. Bohumín and its business subsidiaries operated in Slovakia and Poland, as well as the company Trading Bochemie s.r.o., also based in Bohumín. Among its other members were and still are Permedia s.a. Lublin (Poland), supplier-engineering company Ekomor s.r.o. Frýdek-Místek, and BAS-FM spol. s r.o. Frýdek Místek. The development in the field of photochemistry was carried out by Foma Bohemia s.r.o. Hradec Králové along with its foreign branches. Two companies operated in the pharmaceutical industry – Herbacos s.r.o. Pardubice and Bofarma s.r.o. Brno, which were later merged in one entity – Herbacos-Bofarma s.r.o. based in Pardubice.
In 2005, a new stage of Bochemie Group began. The share of Bochemie s.r.o. in the company Foma Bohemia s.r.o. was sold using the Management Buy Out system and all activities in the field of photochemistry were terminated. The parent company focused on the development of its export activities in the production and sale of chemical specialities and on building new trading companies abroad. Herbacos-Bofarma s.r.o. continues developing its activities in the field of pharmacy, parapharmacy, veterinary and diagnostic means. In 2007, the company Trading Bochemie s.r.o. terminated its activities within Bochemie Group and in early 2008 the orthopaedic clinic ORT-ART s.r.o. was sold. In the middle of 2008 Bochemie a.s. has acquired Hungarian cleaning agent producer, EVM company, which means company is fulfiling its expansive strategy. In summer 2008 Bochemie Bulgaria started operating, thus Bochemie entered Bulgarian market too. By the beginning of 2009, in accordance with the expansive strategy the majority interest in the pharmaceutical company Herbacos- Bofarma has been sold.
