Bochemie Bohumín will export 200 tonnes of preparation preventing spreading of Avian flu to Vietnam

Bohumín, 20th April 2006 - Bochemie will export circa 200 tonnes of Chloramine B (a disinfectant efective against the H5N1 virus of Avian Flu) to Vietnam this year.

Company Bochemie Bohumín, established producer of disinfectants and cleaning products, chemical specialities, disinfectants for health care, materials for metal surfacing and accumulator masses in Europe will export circa 200 tonnes of Chloramin B, disinfectant effectual against H5N1 virus of Avian flu in this year to Vietnam.

“Chloramin B is a preparation officially recommended in the fight against spreading ofAvian flu as well as other infections in Vietnam by local Ministry of Health. Therefore, the export of Chloramin into this locality will be approximately double this year in comparison to that of the year 2002, when the H5N1virus was not insofar widened and dreaded problem,” explained director general of Bochemie Ladislav Kraus.

Vietnamese Ministry of Health, hygienic service and poulterers use product by firm from Bohumín for disinfecting of places and rooms where individuals infected with dreaded virus appeared. “It is so-called local and focal disinfecting. Among others, places of animals’ death and transport bags with dead poultry are being poured with it,” explained export manager of Bochemie Pavel Šípek. He added that effectiveness of Chloramin B against various viruses and micro-organisms is not new, but it entered the consciousness more just in connection with the worldwide spreading of H5N1 virus.

Some domestic clients or customers from the European Union countries show increased interest as well. Chloramin is exported to Romania and to markets of former Soviet Union, too. “We prepare Chloramin T, which is a preparation equivalent to Chloramin B with legislative parameters according to EU standards and almost absolute effectiveness for the whole spectre of micro-organisms for Europe in the second half of this year,” specified the export manager. The whole half of the production of both Chloramin variants is now designed for foreign customers.

Export of Bochemie Bohumín to Vietnam includes apart from Chloramin B also other products, for example special disinfectants for hospitals. This year it will be newly strengthened by preparation Chirox serving mainly for disinfecting of surfaces and spatial air disinfecting in the presence of animals as well, in all spheres of agricultural primary production. “The total volume of trade with The Republic of Vietnam will increase this year as compared with the last year circa by one fifth,” estimated director general of Bochemie L. Kraus.

The share of export on receipts of Bochemie that last year reached to roughly one milliard Crowns regularly oscillates around 60 percent. The firm is a significant exporter of chemical specialities, from which e.g. Feropur, pickling product for stainless steels even penetrated the challenging US market. Bochemie is also one of the most important world suppliers of basic materials and technologies for cadmium-nickel accumulators in pocket version. In disinfectants and cleaning products it occupies leading positions on the market of liquid household detergents in the Czech Republic and Slovakia in the long run.

Bochemie, s.r.o. employs 420 people, and is a leader of multinational concern Bochemie Group.
