The Czech Republic granted millions to Vietnam for fight against Avian flu
PRAGUE / HANOI – The Czech Republic granted disinfectants designed for the fight against Avian flu to Vietnam. The price of material aid amounts to five million Crowns. Vietnamese authorities took over twenty-two tonnes of Chloramin B and nine tonnes of Chirox produced by Czech company Bochemie Bohumín in Hanoi on Thursday. The disinfectants are aimed for four most endangered provinces. The Czech Republic promised the help in January 2006 on International Donation Conference on the Issue of Avian flu. From the point of view of Vietnam it became the most munificent donor among new member countries of European Union. Chloramin B and Chirox are apart from Avian flu also suitable for fight against foot-and-mouth disease, the presence of which was recently reported by local authorities. Vietnam did not announce new cases of disease foci in the last weeks. Nevertheless, experts still perceive the country due to repeated presence of the H5N1 virus, mortal even for a man, as dangerous. Bochemie Bohumín has been operating on the Vietnamese market already for 11 years. In the time of SARS epidemic it won there a privileged position in the supplies of disinfectants.
