
How to deal with pests
Protect your wood! Wood is like all natural materials subject to exposure to natural effects such as weathering, humidity, infestation by wood decaying fungi or insects. You now have the option to protect your wood against these effects using Bochemit in order to extend the service life of the used material and to protect the forestry.
Preventive protection of new and old wood
In order to ensure effective wood protection against infestation by biotic pests such as wood decaying insects, wood decaying fungi and mould, it is recommended that a suitable agent be chosen. Make the choice by taking into account the character of the treated wood and apply it using a method that fits the given agent. In the event of treating old wood, remove any impurities or past coats (grind the surface down to smooth wood) and then, apply the agent
Preventive protection of masonry and plaster against mould
Use Bochemit QB protect your masonry and plaster and subsequently, once the agent has dried, apply the coat of paint
Treatment of wood infested with insects (such as wood worm, sawyer beetle)
Remove the heavily corroded part of the wood, clear the surface of any grease and impurities, and then use Bochemit Plus to treat the wood. The agent will at the same time ensure subsequent preventive protection
Treatment of wood infested with wood decaying fungi or mildew
First of all, remove the infested part of the wood, duly clean the surface and then use SAVO against mildew. Subsequently, treat the wood with a suitable wood preservative from the Bochemit product range in order to ensure preventive protection
Treatment of masonry infested by mould
In order to remove mould from the masonry and plaster, use SAVO against mildew and scratch off the layer of mould after 10 minutes. Then treat the surface with Bochemit QB in order to ensure preventive protection against re-infestation
Dry rot infested masonry renewal
Firstly, wipe the plaster of the infested masonry using the SAVO against mildew agent and then totally remove the infested plaster. Leave the masonry to dry well and then grout the infested area with the Bochemit QB agent. Drill holes of the diameter ranging from 8 to 15 mm and with pitch of maximum 250 mm into the masonry chequerwise. The holes should be drilled to a depth of at least 2/3rds of the wall thickness with inclination downward of min. 30˚, and then should be filled with Bochemit QB solution. Dilute Bochemit QB with water in ratio of 1:9. Once the solution has soaked in, repeat the procedure at least twice
